Acne Skin Care

Tip! Find an effective skin care regimen and cleanser. There are many out there that are both natural acne treatments and those that are chemical in nature.

As a long time sufferer from acne, I’ve spent some years looking into the different forms of acne skin care. One thing I’ve learned is there are about as many different forms of skin care as there are people looking for skin care. Everyone seems to have their own unique idea on ways to treat acne, or prevent acne from occurring in the first place.

Tip! Consistently follow a simple yet effective skin care regime. Cleanse, tone and moisturize.

The one thing I have learned about acne skin care is that your skin can be treated by ways other than topical products. Skin is a part of your body, and contrary to popular belief is very much alive, only the outermost layers of skin are dead’. Taking good care of your health and yourself in general can therefore be a good method of skin care. This includes a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and frequent exercise, but most important I’ve found that keeping stress levels down makes a huge difference for me. My acne is like a stressometer, if I’ve got a lot on my plate I’m pretty much guaranteed to wake up in the morning with two or three new little friends.

Tip! The process for application/use of the natural skin care product. A good natural skin care product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

So learning different techniques to keep stress levels down has proven to be the best acne skin care I’ve come up with, in that it prevents it from happening at all. What you decide to do to keep stress down is up to you, just make sure it’s not alcohol! Alcohol may help you relax, but its one of those culprits that can cause a lot of acne outbreaks for people. Limit the amount of caffeine that you consume as well. Stress isn’t just feeling pressured or tense, but also includes stress to your body that you don’t otherwise notice. Alcohol puts your body under stress, even if it makes you feel mentally at ease.

Of course, some acne just appears whether I’m stressed or not, so there’s always a need for some skin care beyond just healthy low stress living. As far as topical acne skin care treatments, I prefer using soaps that have either salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide in them. For years I was using benzyl peroxide soaps every day with some success, but I’ve recently discovered salicylic acid is just as effective in acne skin care for me.

Tip! Look for skin care products which are anti aging (those containing the ingredients Vitamin C, retinol and ceramides are very good). Try different anti aging skin care products to see which works best for you and moisturise daily.

I use one or the other every day whether I’m having outbreaks or not, and follow up washing my face and applying an skin care moisturizer that suits me and causes no side affects to my skin. This last part is key, as I’ve found that not using a moisturizer will often lead to outbreaks. Acne skin care soaps are often quite harsh, and can in themselves cause acne for me if I don’t follow up with something to sooth the cleaned skin.

Discover The Link Between Acne And Skin Care

Tip! The first thing you must know about skin care treatment is to do it regularly. You can start it from the very easy way, like washing your hands and face with a natural soap or cleanser.

Proper skin care is important any time, but it’s particularly important if you’re dealing with acne. One of the “secrets” to controlling an acne problem is to keep your skin as healthy as you can. This includes keeping it clean and avoiding things like sunshine and harsh cosmetics that can damage the skin.

Cleaning Your Skin

Use a specialized skin cleanser or a gentle soap daily, according to the directions. Don’t scrub your face as this can aggravate acne and actually make the problem worse.

Moisten your face with a soft cloth and apply the cleaner to your skin, from your hairline to your neck. Rinse it with plenty of water and dry your face by patting it with a soft towl (again, avoid scrubbing it dry).

Tip! Find an effective skin care regimen and cleanser. There are many out there that are both natural acne treatments and those that are chemical in nature.

If you have oily skin you may need to use an astringent, however do so with care. Only use it on problem spots and stop if it irritates your skin. If you think you may need to use an astringent, you should consult with your dermatologist first.

Hair care is also related to acne and skin care. Shampoo your hair regularly and do your best to keep it off your face. If your hair is oily, it can lead to acne if not kept clean and away from your face.

Sun Protection

It has long been thought that exposure to the sun can help acne, but this isn’t really the case. The sun can dry out your skin and a tan can make your acne less obvious, but it’s really a temporary solution.

Once your skin acclimatizes itself to the sun, your acne will return plus the sun exposure carries other risks such as skin cancer.

Tip! Look for skin care products which are anti aging (those containing the ingredients Vitamin C, retinol and ceramides are very good). Try different anti aging skin care products to see which works best for you and moisturise daily.

Some acne treatments can also make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and in turn more likely to burn. You should always wear sunscreen when you’re out in the sun, whether you’re dealing with acne or not.

Makeup & Cosmetics

Ideally, wearing no makeup is the best choice but if that isn’t an option be sure to choose a makeup that won’t clog your pores.

These cosmetic products are labelled as noncomedogenic, although some people may still have problems when using them. Be sure you choose makeups that don’t use an oil base. Read the ingredients before choosing anything.

Tip! Avoiding exposure to dust and other pollutants is also important for sensitive skin care. So, cover yourself adequately before going out.

Shaving

There is no hard and fast rule when choosing between electric razors and safety razors. Some people will find one more comfortable, some with find the other.

If you choose to use safety razors, don’t shave with dull blades. You might have to shave around serious acne lesions, and make sure you soften your beard with water and shaving cream before you shave.

If you’re having a particular bad day with acne breakouts, it’s probably best to skip shaving altogether.

Avoid Touching Your Skin

It’s tempting to squeeze pimples, but don’t give in! It can lead to more serious problems because squeezing them can cause the bacteria that causes acne to spread. It can also cause permanent scarring in some cases.

Tip! Use sensitive skin care products only (i.e.

It’s also a good idea to avoid touching your face because your hands tend to be dirty and oily and they can spread germs.

Can Antioxidants Improve Skin Care?

Tip! The process for application/use of the natural skin care product. A good natural skin care product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.

For most issues related to teenagers, fads rule the roost. And skin care issues are highest among teenager. Today any medium, be it magazines, newspapers, television or the Internet are inundated with skin care related articles. These articles could include various therapies and homemade solutions for skin care. Ranging from the totally natural to those which involve chemicals, these articles provide the reader with the much needed solutions to their skin related problems.

These days the latest craze in skin care regimes is natural antioxidant skin care. The belief that is being popularized these days is that the more natural the product being used the more effective and devoid of side effects it will be. This concept has a strong historical background since it is a known fact that queens and princesses of the ages gone by used natural extracts of plants like hibiscus and olive to keep their skin glowing and youthful. Over time man has processed these very elements and made them available to the common man in the form of tubes, bottles and cans containing moisturizers, creams, shampoos and anti-ageing gels. These contain the richness of the abundant health secrets hidden in the flora and fauna of the jungles. The only difference is that they are more likely to have been processed in a research laboratory and tested before being presented to you for use.

Tip! ‘Make up and skin care’ is also about testing the products before using them. So, apply the make up on a small patch of skin e.

These distilled ingredients used to keep a healthy body are being called nutriceuticals. This new addition to the dictionary is made up of the words ‘nutrients’ and pharmaceutical’.

Most companies which make skin care related products tout the goodness of antioxidants and natural products that contain antioxidants. An antioxidant is something that destroys the harmful oxygen free radicals. These free radicals could be a product of normal functioning of the body or could be generated due to external factors like ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Tip! Consistently follow a simple yet effective skin care regime. Cleanse, tone and moisturize.

Though the concept of free radicals is extremely complicated to explain, suffice it to know that these radicals can be harmful and can result in mutation in genes. Mutation can lead to skin cancer and make the individual incapable of repairing the damage done to the skin. With antioxidants we can limit the number of free radicals in our system, thereby ensuring that we not only keep our skin supple and glowing but also healthy. This wonderful discovery of how antioxidants can work to negate the effect of free radicals had led to fantastic products which can help in tackling issues related to ageing skin. Problems like wrinkles, spots, pigmentation and small growths can be resolved with increasing the amount of antioxidants in your diet and oral application of antioxidant concentrates.

Tip! Use sensitive skin care products only (i.e.
